You need to find something that your kid will like and want to spend time outdoors driving. Otherwise, you will end up with a beautiful toy that your child doesn’t want to use.

Below are some of the considerations that you need to make when buying power wheels.

* SPEED

Most power wheels vehicles have a speed of 2.5-5 MPH. You must choose a vehicle with adjustable speed levels that you can switch up as the child grows.

Parents can easily walk along with the car when a toddler is driving at 2.5 MPH. 

It is simple to monitor a child’s driving skills and correct the child whenever they go carelessly. Additionally, find a car with a speed lockout feature that enables parents to lock out the highest speed.

However, a few 12 Volt Power wheels can go at a top speed of 6 MPH. You can always upgrade the motor if you want a vehicle that goes at high-speed levels.

A vast majority of 12 Volt power wheels are for kids who are 3-7 years old, and the maximum speed of 5 MPH is high enough for the age limit.

Weight limit also plays a factor.  If the max of the vehicle’s weight limit is in use, then it will be more taxing on the battery and slow down the speed, but if the weight limit isn’t close, then the Power Wheels will top out at 5/6 MPH, and the battery will last a lot longer as it doesn’t have to work as hard.
