The Barbie Jeep Wrangler Power Wheels is built very well, easily modified, and will last for years to come. The Barbie car has a 12V battery, six preset songs, and many Barbie stickers. I do think it’s a great car for the price, though keep in mind the accessories are limited, no seatbelts, and the lights are stickers.

Fischer Price Barbie Jeep Wrangler Power Wheels

Barbie is an iconic symbol, and kids can easily relate to such a toy. The name has been around for 60+ years.

Some of us may remember growing up and playing with Barbie and her Jeep.

Well, now not only can you buy the Barbie Jeep [Amazon Link] for your kids, they can ride in the car together! In this breakdown, I will let you know everything there is to know about this Barbie Jeep Wrangler so you will know if it’s a good fit or not.

Design

The design is very nice, it really resembles the Jeep Wrangler, not only that, a lot of the pieces are smooth instead of blunt/sharp, so if the child would end up falling on it, for example, it will be dull to lessen the injury.

The back area of the Jeep does have a nice cargo box so the kids can put in extra toys. They love transporting things from one location to another.

You will have a great array of Barbie decals you can add all over the Barbie car as they are all included. It does come with a large amount but if you would need more stickers we recommend these.

Again these are decals, so you will have to put them on the car after you are done building it.

Wheels

With most vehicles in this price range, you are looking at plastic wheels. Plastic wheels do tend to last a long time but don’t have the best traction. You can always add traction later.

If this Barbie Jeep will be driven on a hard even surface this isn’t an issue. However; if you are trying to drive it on uneven surfaces or wet grass you will see the wheels slip and spin at times.

Both back wheels will move and both have their own motor so the vehicle is 2 wheel drive.

Safety

As mentioned earlier the Barbie Jeep is very smooth and doesn’t have any sharp parts, which is very nice for safety. This is a Fischer Price Power Wheels brand and they rarely add seatbelts into their vehicles, and this one is no exception.

If this is a deal-breaker for you, there are two options we have, you can add seatbelts yourself or we have a list of the best pink ride-on cars that may be more suitable for you. We do also recommend purchasing a helmet if you decide not to go with the seatbelt option.

It is also reported by Power Wheels that they use a different type of braking, so the moment the child takes their foot off the gas the vehicle stops. Usually, this would just stop the car from moving forward and coasting to a stop. Keep in mind no parental remote is included.

This Power Wheels also has a lock-out screw which is basically a governor to keep speeds slow until the child gets to master it. This is a huge safety feature that not all kid Jeeps come with.

Speed

This Barbie car can go between 2.5 and 5 miles per hour. At first, it will have a safety feature called a lock-out screw in the gear shifter.

When this small screw is in the shifter the car can only go 2.5MPH forward and backward. When your child is ready for more speed, simply remove this screw and it will go 5.0 MPH forward (still 2.5 MPH in reverse).

Capacity

This ride can only hold two children and recommended age is 3 – 7 years of age. The maximum weight limit of the Barbie Jeep Wrangler is 130 pounds.

Jeeps that can hold 2 kids are great because their weight limit is always on the higher side and being able to move 130 pounds is pretty sweet. This doesn’t mean you have to use all this. If your child is riding solo and lighter, that just means you will get even better performance out of your Barbie Jeep and the battery.

Nice long play sessions, as the battery will last a lot longer because it doesn’t have to work as hard.

Entertainment

The reviews are very positive in this area as they bring two amazing brands, Barbie and Fischer Price Power Wheels, together. This vehicle has been on the market for a while and is one of its best sellers.

Some extra fun the kids can have is bringing their own Barbies in the back of the Jeep Wrangler so they can play with them when they get to their destination. The Barbie Jeep Car has a radio inside that has six preset songs the kids can play.

The kids can also help with the stickers after the initial installation to personalize their Jeep.

Running Time

The runtime on the Barbie Jeep can reach up to two hours, depending on the weight of the passenger(s). This Jeep Wrangler comes with a 12 Volt battery that powers a motor on each of the back wheels.

Make sure you charge the battery extra long the first time before using the Jeep.

Price

Considering all that comes with this Barbie Jeep, the price is reasonable.

The car is reasonably priced, in my opinion. The maximum load it can support is substantial, and it’s constructed using high-quality materials. Power Wheels are very durable, and as youngsters get older, they can get theirs upgraded to greater speeds.

Keep in mind that there is a restricted supply of extras. Besides the six tracks stored on the dashboard, there are no lights.

Convenience / Install

The Barbie Jeep Car does have to be put together when it arrives. I have not put this specific Jeep together but I have put a Tobbi Jeep together and they do take about 1 – 2 hours to complete.

Expect a lot of parts and patience will be needed but once it’s together it’s done!

The dimensions of the vehicle are 29.53 x 46.46 x 31.1 inches; 69 Pounds.

This Jeep is very nice as kids can even get in and out by using the doors that actually open and close. Add some decals to the doors and body and it’s looking like the original Barbie Jeep and brings back nostalgia.

The Barbie Jeep Wrangler is available on Amazon.

Pros
  • 130 LBS weight limit
  • Seats 2
  • Looks just like the Barbie Jeep Car

Alternative: Fischer Price Disney Princess Jeep Wrangler Power Wheels

There are other Jeep Wrangler alternatives to the Barbie car and one of them is the Disney Princess Jeep Wrangler [Amazon Link]. They are very similar, basically just a different themes.

Conclusion

I really do recommend the Barbie Jeep Wrangler, Power Wheels did an amazing job and it shows as this one is one of their best sellers. The only down fault of the car would be that seatbelts are not included.

If this is an issue for you we have a list of other Jeeps that do come with seatbelts.
